About Us
HISTORY:
DIECASTING (N.Z.) LIMITED
Diecasting (N.Z.) Limited was formed in 1969 when the owners recognised an opportunity to service the CKD car industry, which at the time required a greater local content. By 1980, the company was well established as specialists in zinc diecasting and the customer base had grown considerably to include many household names, ie. Sunbeam, Ultimate Echo, AWA. General Motors, Ford Motor Co., Fisher & Paykel, Kambrook, Zip and Hoover.
In 1992 a decision was made to begin a replacement program for their ageing diecasting machines. All machines have now been renewed and have proven to be reliable and efficient, allowing economic production costs. Our well maintained machines range from 50 tonne to 300 tonne. Also available on site is a polishing shop offering polishing, vibrating, linishing services.
GENERAL METAL FINISHING (N.Z.) LIMITED
The formation of this Company was also used to create ongoing work for their affiliate Company, General Metal Finishing (N.Z.) Limited who now operate the latest fully automatic powder coating plant from the same premises. It was established in 1974 to service Diecasting (NZ) Limited. From the early 80’s, they became known as a contract powder coater servicing the manufacturing sector around the greater Auckland area. This included oil filter canister for Fram filters, Torsion Bars for Faulkner & Collins, wire products for Fisher & Paykel, window and door furniture for Spurway Cooper, window and door furniture for Hardware Developments and shop displays for Nova Displays (The Display Group).
The Powder Coating plant is ideally suited for the smaller sized components but by continuously updating, gives us versatile plant enabling us to accept jobs up to 3.5 metres long by 1 metre deep.
